What does partnership mean to you?

I think to me it means commitment, and ultimately something that is lifelong. I’m sure over time it will evolve and have whole new meanings as we enter different chapters and stages of our life, but I think our lifelong commitment to one another is the undercurrent of our partnership.

What drew you to our pieces and how did you feel when wearing them?

Perth being our home definitely drew me to a Perth based designer. Harriette Gordon was the first place I went looking for a dress, and I basically made a decision then and there on ‘the’ dress. I felt elegant, timeless and so confident wearing my pieces. I also absolutely love that I was able to wear my dress all night long, taking one element off after the reception created a whole new look for late night dancing.

Any tricks or tips you would share with other couples planning their wedding?

The less time to think and make the big decisions, the better! We were married three months after getting engaged, and while I’m still in absolute awe that we managed to pull it off with the most incredible team, and the short timeline we had, I wouldn’t change it for the world. We didn’t really have the time to dwell on things or change our minds about anything once we’d made a decision about something, and we just went with the flow with how things progressed. It was magic!

Your favourite quality in your partner?

I’m going to change this to ‘qualities’…! Jock is fiercely loyal, generous, and selfless. He’s also bloody cheeky.

Did you feature a significant poem or song in your wedding? What is the story behind its meaning to you?

Yes! Our first dance song at the wedding was ‘Sweet Caroline’, which was a song Jock changed the lyrics to years back and made it ‘Sweet Al of Mine’. Cheesy, but a very fun song to sing and dance to!
